Copy of small headerThis month for  the Book Blogger Interview, I’m featuring Wendy, LT & Shonna from Vampires, Werewolves and Faeries. Oh My!.   Be sure to give them a warm Wolf Pack hello!

About us from Wendy’s point of view: We are three friends that met through our love of the BDB series. We read (& Love) books and post the reviews on our blog. We’ve been blogging for over 4 years now and look forward to many years working together spreading our love of books. We all work together but we each have different jobs on the blog-

LT- she’s our Main Reviewer (Bless her heart she will read anything I throw at her except M/M, she drew the line in the sand on that genre). She also helps spread the word on Facebook and Goodreads about all our reviews and Guest Posts.

Wendy (me)- I review books & post the reviews, handle the design of the blog (with the input from my 2 partners in crime), Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads & Google + Admin and help Shonna with the calendar.

Shonna- she is the Head Scheduler for everything on the blog (she even puts up with me adding things to the schedule without asking first- lol), reviews books, adds Guest Posts & other tours on the blog, Admin on the Facebook page. She also handles contacting authors about stopping by our blog.

1. Where are you from?

LT– I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. then moved my family to the SUBS about 8 years ago. We have some interesting weather. Snow on the mountains and 80 plus degrees in the valley.

Wendy– I was born in Louisiana but now I live outside of Las Vegas, love it during the winter but hate it during the summer. I don’t like the heat so I ask myself every year why I moved to the desert.

Shonna- I live in the southwest corner of Missouri, a town called Joplin.

2. Were you a big reader as a child?

LT– I wasn’t a big reader as a child, I didn’t like school much. Plus mother made us stay outside and “play” till the street lights came on. But I’m glad I left all that space empty for the adult stories I read now.

Wendy– I always loved to read when I was younger but I think around the 7th grade my neighbor gave me Flowers in the Attic to read and I was hooked, have had a book in my hand ever since then. I was the kid in class that read the entire book list instead of just the one or two that were required.

Shonna– Growing up, no, reading a book was not a big priority for me, pretty sad huh? I regret it now; I missed out on a lot of wonderful stories.

3. What made you decide to start a book blog?

LT– I love giving my take on the books I read. And when Wendy brought me over to blog where I could tell so many more people about how I felt about the story, it was love at first Blog.

Wendy– My love for books and talking about books, I want to tell the world about the good story that I fell in love with and see if they could ever possibly feel the same way as I do. Authors work hard to tell their stories and I want to be just a small part of spreading the word about how I loved their story telling and world building that is all wrapped up in a book with a pretty cover.

Shonna– It wasn’t me, LOL; it was our Wendy that started it all. In the beginning I was very reluctant about the whole thing.
4. What’s your biggest challenge as a book blogger?

LT– Biggest challenge for me, are the boring stories with no love or too much information about stuff they have said already. Now on the other hand Wendy’s biggest challenge with me is… lol.. I don’t read certain books and with some of the stories she has told me lately I’m glad I still don’t.

Wendy– My biggest challenge is one I put on myself, I want to read everything. There is not enough time in the day for me to read, having a full time job sucks lol. I read more than I watch TV but I still want more books to add to my ever growing TBR pile. The challenge for the blog, well this is a hard one to answer, probably getting a review request and not liking the book at all.

Shonna– From the beginning for me, there were lots of challenges. Being the oldest of “The Three Crazy Chicks” I wasn’t raised with computers. Just learning simple computer tasks was hard for me. There’s been lots of hand holding to get me through it. Seriously! Several times I have been sent one step at a time numbered instructions on how to do something. Number one, click the button in the upper right corner, number two, move the cursor to this spot on the screen (not kidding here). The girls have been very patient with me and I appreciate it.  Now, I feel the largest challenge is keeping the visiting traffic to our blog flowing and a place where people want to return to over and over. There are so many book bloggers out there today and you don’t want your followers to get bored.

5. Who are some of your favorite authors and why?

LT– Cassie Edwards started me reading romance novels. Then Amanda Ashley started me reading paranormal, I was very loyal to one author at a time. But got tired of waiting, so I searched out series because I want to keep reading about the people from the stories I had read before. My search found J.R. Ward after reading BDB, I was hooked and I have not stopped reading since.

Wendy– J.R. Ward is a top favorite, I love her writing and storytelling plus the characters are Hot!  Humor is a big plus for me so Lynsay Sands is another author who I really like.  Claire Ashgrove has a series about the Knights Templar that I cannot get enough of, I don’t know what it is about those books but I love them. Karen Marie Moning… Jericho Barrons!! (enough said, right?)  Believe me my list of favorites goes on and on, Kresley Cole, Jeaniene Frost, J. Kenner, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lora Leigh…see? on and on and on!

Shonna– You know, that is like asking which is your favorite child. I have several favorites and each one is for a different reason. One author I love because of the way she brings her characters to such life in my head. Another the way she can bring out my emotions and make me feel what the character feels. Yet another I envy the way they make a story flow, or make me not want to put it down until I have finished the very last page (screw laundry and cooking, order a pizza).

6. What’s your biggest book/story related pet peeve?

LT– My biggest pet peeve is the cover model’s look being different than what they described in the book’s description of the hero or heroine. I don’t want a blonde short hair man on cover with the hero having dark long flowing hair. Another of my pet peeves is the battle to love or let them go.. Why do they struggle with that? And the big ” I’m not good enough for her” fight they have with themselves.

Wendy– My biggest pet peeves jump around- sometimes “Insta” love bothers me, couples fully dressed but you never hear of them taking off their shoes or socks, no lube with anal sex (come on..really?), characters who have way too much inner dialogue (they talk and talk but never get to the point) and over telling about the surroundings- tell me the trees have green leaves, don’t tell me they are a pretty moss green with a touch of light green in the veins of the leaves that are falling to the ground slowly to join the brown leaves on the ground with the green grass that has a mist on the spruce green that makes is look sage green……..It’s green!!  Oh and the names of some of the body parts…you all know what I’m talking about- lol some are just so silly.

Shonna– Not that I am perfect,.. but I hate spelling and grammar mistakes in a published book.
7. If you could only read one genre for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

LT– Paranormal Romance..forever, Sadly I’m not a big fan of contemporary books. Someone has to have powers, wings, fangs, fur or time traveling please. But I do read and enjoy other genres that we get review requests for on the blog.

Wendy– Paranormal Romance because I love all things related to vampires, werewolves and other worldly creatures. The whole idea that something like a vampire could fall in love and be happy is an awesome concept to me, we think of these creatures as scary and nothing but killing machines. Anything is possible in the paranormal world and that’s what I like. Plus it helps me escape from this one that is so boring.

Shonna– Hands down, paranormal romance. I do read other genres, but paranormal romance is a personal preference that always catches my attention and draws me in. I love the worlds and creatures that are created in them.
