This week on the Book Blogger Interview, I’m featuring Dani from Ramblings from This Chick. Be sure to give her a warm Wolf Pack welcome!
Where are you from? Were you a big reader as a child?
I’m from Kissimmee, Florida which is right outside of Orlando. I’ve been reading for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I pretty much lived at the library. I always had a book with me no matter where I went.
What made you decide to start a book blog?
I wanted a way to express my thoughts and feelings about the books I was reading and I thought it would help me become more creative with my writing.
What’s your biggest challenge as a book blogger?
For me it’s coming up with creative ideas and posts for the blog.
Who are some of your favorite authors and why?
Oh wow so many.
JR Ward definitely tops my list. I can’t even count how many times I’ve read her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It’s so damn good and addictive.
Jennifer L. Armentrout (J. Lynn) is a new favorite. I just made my way through all of her books and loved them all. In fact, I just read her Lux series and I loved it so much that as soon as I finished it I turned around and started reading it all over again. I haven’t done that with a series since I first started the BDB series. She honestly blew me away and afterwards I went out and bought all of her books.
Lisa Kleypas is another author who tops my list. I don’t think there has been one book from her that I haven’t liked. She has created some of my all time favorite heroes and I just love her books.
What’s your biggest book/story related pet peeve?
Hmm…I not the biggest fan of insta love in stories. I just find it so hard to believe that they met a day ago and already are in love and going to get married. Just seems so unrealistic to me. I’m also not a fan of overly whiny and naive heroines and over the top alpha male heroes.
If you could only read one genre for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Honestly, I can’t pick just one. I like to read a little of everything and it all just depends on my mood. If you would have asked me this question four years ago it I would have picked paranormal, hands down. Then I got into historical and that became my favorite for awhile. Now in the last year, I’ve been reading almost all contemporary and new adult. It honestly just depends on my mood. So I’m sorry, I can’t pick just one.
